Caniderians, also known as Western Canidorians or Hothirians are an lupinius indigenous species that are native to the planet of Canidoria, and are in the same genus as the Canidiums, the Canidor genus. They are an officially recognized specie member of the Imperial Confederation. They make up the 87.6% of the population of the Canidorian continent of Hothiria, and 21.1% of the continent of Beszmorthiria. They consist 59.7% of the entire population of the planet of Canidoria. Within the Imperial Confederation, they are considered to be the second most populous species, behind the Apregians. The Caniderians are often referred to as Hothirians by Canidiums, and before their official inclusion in the Imperial Confederation were interstellarly referred to as West Canidorians.
The Caniderians before their inclusion into the Imperial Confederation were governed by kingdoms, and at the zenith of their power when they were included within the Imperial Confederation were ruled under the House of Moi under the Hothirian Empire that spanned the entire continent of Hothiria. The Hothirian Empire sought out a centralized government to foster a singular language and culture. Many smaller Caniderian languages, numbering in over 100 different languages, have gone extinct. There are only two major dialects that remain, Northern Hothirian and Southern Hothirian.
The Caniderians under the Horthirian Empire and the Canidiums under the Beszmorthirian Republic have been in constant on and off conflict stemming from the War of the Lariszan Archipelago in Beszmorthiria. Located in the southern part of the continent, the Horthirian Empire initianted a new colonial effort on the island despite the presence of a very small amount of Canidiums. The war eventually set of a three millennia conflict, known to the Imperial Confederation as the Great Canidorian Game.
Caniderians within the Imperial Confederation have spread far and wide. Their most non-Canidorian presence is on the planet of Barylius, the homeplanet of the species of Barylians. Caniderians are relatively more robust body architype than Canidiums, which allows them to take more laborious tasks and jobs. Compared to Canidiums, Caniderians are more physically adept. The average male Caniderian stands at around 182cm (6ft), and the average female Caniderian stands at around 175cm (5ft 9in).
Caniderian culture is primarily derived from Argent Caniderians that lived in or around the area known as Argennis. Several other cities have promuglated different strains of cultural difference, but much of modern Caniderian culture is derived from the Argent Caniderians. Other cultures that exist within the Caniderians are the Kalo Caniderians, the East Hothirian Island Caniderians, and the Valent Caniderians. Today, Caniderians on the planet of Canidoria remain on the continent of Hothiria, and a large minority exists on the continent of Beszmothiria. Caniderians are omnivorious but are also adept agrarians, and much of their food and modern day economy is based on agriculture exportations.
History
Caniderians were the dominant species that lived on the continent of Hothiria. The planet of Canidoria is split between two major continents: Hothiria and Beszmorthiria. Much of the early prominent history of the Caniderians in their emergence was followed by the Great Hothirian Revolution. Many different species of Canidors existed on Hothiria, over two times more than in Beszmorthiria. When the Caniderians emerged, they began to wipe out other, less dominant species within the Canidor genus.
