The Caunettiene Royal Navy is the naval warfare component of the Caunettiene Defense Forces of the Coral Kingdom of Caunette. It is composed of approximately 300,000 active duty sailors, and about 150,000 reservists as of 2034. Operating 150 surface ships, 300 aircraft, and a string of offshore naval fortifications in the Sea of Arrack, it is one of the largest naval forces in Esvanovia. The Caunettiene Royal Navy tracks its roots through merhcant mariners taking up arms to protect their ships from piracy in the Sea of Arrack during Caunette's years spent as a member of the Marquesan League. After obtaining independence from the League in July 1885 CE, the Royal Navy was formally authorized for creation on August 1st to assume the coastal defense of Caunette and to replace the merchant marine militias that had preceded its creation.
Though a minor player in the grand scheme of the conflict, the Caunettiene Royal Navy did see limited action in the Anagonian and Hiakemeirian theaters of the Great War. It has spent the ensuing years working to ensure pirate raiders and terror cells cannor operate in the Sea of Arrack or in southern Hiakemira. It is heavily tied into a supporting role for the Kozakuran and Marquesienne Navies. Today, the Caunettiene Royal Navy is a fully professional service arm of the Caunettiene Defense Forces, and is considered both its strongest and most senior military branch. Like the other service branches, it utilizes conscription to maintain its number, though volunteerism has been on the rise in recent years. A brown-water navy, it is reliant on support from Kozakura and Marquesan for blue water capabilities in the outlying regions of the Esvanovia region.
The Caunettiene Royal Navy is administerd by the Defense Ministry of the Coral Kingdom, with the Lord Grand Marshal and the First Lord Admiral of the Navy operating essential command of the branch. It regularly conducts exercises with other nations and is able to force project liberally into the Sea of Arrack and the Mare Noctis of southern Esvanovia with the support of its allied partners.
