Charles IX (Karel Filip Marie Clemens Boudewijn van Hooggaarden-Witsenburg, born 19 July 1977) is King of Huldenberg. He has reigned since 5 October 2003, when his father Charles VIII abdicated the throne.
Following the death of his grandfather Philip II in 1987, Charles became crown prince after his father ascended the throne. During the final days of the Atmoran Interior War, Charles joined the Atmoran Army in 1996. After graduating from the Royal Military Academy in 1998, Charles was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the 4 Garderegiment Dragonders. By 2004 Charles was promoted to Rittmeester. Charles married Princess Louisa of Sayn-Weltersburg-Nisterau a noblewoman distant cousin to Lodewijk II, Prince of Sayn-Ravenstein. Charles and Louisa have two children Charles Gustaf and Svetlana. During the Fourth Voshan War, Charles offered sanctuary to Vozhan prisoners of war, Charles convinced Katherine II to allow POWs to be interned in Heiligenrode and Walsdorp.
