The Chief Minister of Riziland (Gaullican: Premier du Riziland, Rwizi: Mutungamiriri Mukuru weRwizikuru) was the head of government of the Colony of Riziland from when it was granted limited self government in 1937 until it was abolished in 1946 when Riziland gained independence as Rwizikuru.
Elected from the Legislative Council, the Chief Minister was supposed to be the leader of the largest party, either individually, or within a coalition. Due to the nature of elections during this period, where of the 16 full members of the Legislative Council, eight were assigned to the white community, representing Riziland and the mandates, and eight only to natives within Riziland proper, different parties evolved to represent the interests of the white and native communities. This meant that in practice, no one party was ever able to govern alone, which required the creation of coalitions.
