The Communist Party of Vierzland (Vierz: Kommunistische Partei Vierzlands, KPV) is a communist political party in Vierzland.
The KPV was founded in secret in Adtrus in July 1927, shortly after the League of Communists of Vierzland was banned by Hermann Eschau's military regime. Since communist organizations were forbidden, the KPV leadership fled to Luepola, while continuing to distribute propaganda material underground in Vierzland. What little sympathy existed for the party dwindled during the Great War, and was mostly destroyed during the post-war anti-communist purges, during which time known party leaders or sympathizers were harassed, arrested, tortured, or killed. The KPV's relationship with the Vierz Liberation Army (VBA) during the Great War is highly controversial, as VBA commander Hans Friedmann was an alleged KPV member.
The KPV was effectively dormant until the 1980s, when it began covert participation in the Vierz Revolution. The dissolution of the Vierz Empire via the Werner Declaration saw the repealing of the ban on communist parties, and the KPV began to openly participate in elections in spite of overwhelming public hostility. The party maintains 13 seats in different state assemblies, and has never achieved over 1% support in national elections. Its leader since 2007 is Gregor Rathenau.
