Crown jewels of the Absolute Royal Federation

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The federal crown jewels, also known as the Imerian crown jewels as Imeriata proper is the only realm to lack any regalia of it's own, are the collection of artefacts and jewellery that the federation have gathered under it's long life stretching back millennia that have come to represent the crown. They are stored in the royal palace and are worn during official ceremonies in the federation however so are the exception when the king holds court as that happens far too often to require the regalia where only the crown and the sword of halmir is used.

Sword of Halmir

The sword of Halmir is amongst the three most important part of the regalia and it dates back to the age before the Imerian migration making it around 2500 years old at least. It was forged by rune silver according to legend for Belron the son of the silverforged god of war Bel for the war during the Imerian migration and the sword was used regularly through the conflict until Imer the great fell and Belron left this world with him.

However as it had been both Belron and Fylrik Stjärnkhrone the distant ancestor of the Stjärnkhrone house and the first ruler of Imerbürg and drottin of the river that dragged the dying high king from that battle so did Belron hand his sword over to the young chieftain and tasked him with protecting it and the crown until a new high king was crowned as he departed with his beloved king. After Emanuel the first's conquest of all of Imeriata did he proclaimed himself high king of Imeriata and lord of all Imerians so he decided that his family had upheld their age long guard of the sword and the crown so he took both as his own and let himself be crowned by them.

The blade of the sword itself is rather simple in it's style with two edges and a very straight 794 centimetre long blade that ends in a rounded tip and magical runes in the centre where it is enchanted through. The hilt however was replaced as it rotted away and were theorised to have been of simple leather and wood. The modern handle however is a highly decorated affair. While the main part is made out of ivory cut from a mammoth's tusk with fine figures cut into it so is the rounded pommel and guard made out of silver. The pommel itself is shaped as a large rose while the guard is shaped like a c and is decorated with a rose that slingers back and forth in a never ending knot.

While the original scabbard is long since lost and most historians agrees that it was taken with Belron as he and Imer left Fylrik so were a new version made in the 15th century to replace the old wooden version that had replaced the earlier one which is unlikely to have been the original one. The main part of the scabbard is made out of ivory and on it is the life of Imer the great depicted while the top and the bottom is made out of simple silver.

Once used it battle so is it said that the hand wearing it will not drop it and he will be blessed by the legendary speed, agility and strength that the demigod belron once possessed.

Primus XI's dagger

This dagger is a bollocks dagger commissioned by Primus rex Stjärnkhrone XI when he managed to rise up and retake his grandfather's crown after the 28 years that the Öaherre family from Jarnarna held the crown and it was said that he personally killed young Thorfin rex Öaherre I when the young teen tried to put up a fight rather than defend Imerbürg when the Imerian army marched south to meet the upstarts and their allies. As a sign of their loyalty so did the Imerian commanders on Thorfin's side arrest the young man and handed him over to Primus XI where he slew his young rival.

The Dagger itself is an exquisite dagger made out of a runesilver blade with a dark black hilt made out of ebony that is clearly shaped like a manhood with veins clearly visible on the grip and on the two balls that serves as it's guard. At the end of the grip however so can one find an impressive ring made out of runesilver with a large clear saphire placed in it's centre. This ring is held in place at the end of the grip with an impressive eagle talon growing out of the ring and that holds the end of the grip.

Silferkhrönan

Silferkhrönan or the silver crown is the crown helmet of the high king of Imeriata but have over ages become the crown of the high king of the absolute royal federation. It was forged according to legend in the dark days leading up to the Imerian migration and were the gift of the gods to the Imerian war leader Imer the great by the gods themselves. The crown is forged like the helmets worn by Imerians at the time with a high top, a face guard with facial hair and primitive features going down over it's wearers face and with two large wings and it is entirely made out of runesilver with sapphires decorating it.

The helmet is also enchanted with old powerful runes making it's wearer wiser just as it gives him the ability to read his foes moves in battle which makes most modern historians believe that it was originally intended to be a pure warriors equipment rather than one forged for a ruler. However at the death of Imer the great so did Drottin Fylrik bring the helmet back to his newly established fortress at the mouth of Storfloden where he and his sons guarded it for the next high king of the Imerians, which ironically happened to be his descendant Emanuel rex Stjärnkhrone.

Flodens khröna

Flodens khröna or the river crown was a crown originally made by Fylrik for him to wear as the drottin of Storfloden as he declared himself and what his family managed to establish themselves as. Later on were it worn by the riverkings as the kings of the river and when the Stjärnkhrone family managed to establish themselves as the high kings of the absolute royal federation so were the river crown worn by the federal prince and the river prince which was the crown prince of Imeriata and later on the federation and it is currently held by Primus auf Stjärnkhrone XIV.

The modern crown is most likely a replacement however as it is made of a much later style and is made out of steel, something that they did not have just after the Imerian migration. However as it is unknown when it was made and by whom so does the state officially keep saying that it is the real crown. The modern crown is a simple design with a helmet covering both head and sides with a primitive facemask only adorned by a golden eyerim and noseguard that other helmets wore without the facemask.

Further more so is it decorated by a golden rim around it's edges and over it's head where it has a place with a large collection of red feathers is placed and it is also outfitted with two large horns on it's side.

Siflradräkt

Silfradräkt is an enchanted hauberk made for Emanuel the first to wear in his massive wars of conquest which unified the massive riverlands in the north with söderfalt in the south and asterarna in the east. The hauberk itself is forged entirely out of the expensive runesilver that even today is a very rare material that is hard to manufacture and requires both magic and extremely skilled smiths. As runesilver is a material that is not only sturdier than steel but also lighter means that an armour made out of it was a very impressive sight alone on the battlefield but the enchantments put on Siflradräkt makes it a one of a kind armour.

What really makes sifradräkt's enchantment so impressive is that the enchantment is written on each individual ring making it a very powerful armour indeed but also that it is so universal and simple. With the simple commandment "May all harm cased my wearer be done to it that caused it and may harmful and obstructive magic bounce back at it's caster" so is the armour very versatile and means that the owner is just as safe from a bolt of laser and a bullet as he would be from a poleaxe or a sword while magic is repelled.

Vharga dragt

Vharga dragt or wolfdrawn in English is a chariot that was created for the drot of the river around 200 years before Christ made out of blood tree wood and then decorated by bronze. The wood itself is white as blood tree often is and it's sides is also decorated by images of Imer the great and Fylrik stjärnkhrone fighting against demons as mighty wolves runs amongst their feet. It is also enchanted by runes protecting it's owners and the wolves drawing it from arrows and darts as well as protecting it from the ravages of the ages which has allowed the Stjärnkhrone family to keep it. However compared to the mighty enchantments put on Siflradräkt that was generalised and even today protect it's owner from harm so were vharga dragt enchanted very specifically and only protects it's rider and it's wolves from arrows and darts.

This meant that when the drots and later kings were dragged into battle did they still have to use wolves when most noblemen had switched over to horses to keep it protecting their mounts. This became obvious in a battle between drottin Ergal stjärnkhrone that pulled his chariot with horses against an unknown foe and were left on the field when his horses died. The main problem did however arose in the late 1st century before Christ and the first after when the crossbow became the weapon of choice amongst Scanderans and both the kings and the mounts lost their protection as the enchantment mentioned nothing about bolts.

Khönunga mantlen

The royal cloak as it is known as in English is an old garment of unknown origin that has been worn by several high kings and is cut so that it can be worn with wings attached to his back. The top of the cloak is white fur with black spots from a snow leopard while the lower is strong wool in the checkered white and gold pattern that the Stjärnkhrone family have used for centuries to identify with themselves.

The cloak is however not magical and remains easy to replace and has been done so several times according to most historians as one can see damage on some portraits of old kings that is not in the current one but is not repaired on the new one either.

Björn III's Poleaxe

Björn's poleaxe is a old war weapon forged for Björn the III in the end of the 14th century. It's head is simple enough despite being made out of runesilver and is decorated by engravings of roses on it. The handle is also decorated by this flower and it is cut out of white blood tree giving it a very light and polished look and it is enchanted only with the words "may my weapon always cleave the armour of my target" which while fearsome as it was at the time of it's construction lost it's value against the rise of large pikeformations as the king was not risked in the small skirmishing lines of poleaxe armed men and men armed with zweihanders that tried to kill one another and allow their own two handed swordsmen to engage the enemy pike formations and cut through their pikes.

As the king were moved back to the rear with the cavalry so did the poleaxe lose it's value and this mighty weapon was not used in battle by a king engaged to a foe.

Hyfrida's horn

Hylfrida's horn is a old enchanted warhorn made out of gold and the horn of a dragon and it is said that once you sound it so will the thing you intended to hear it hear it and come to your aid. It was originally owned by the elven queen Hyfrida that fell madly in love with the trickster lardin that took the name Ingen or "nobody" and gave it to his servants in return of getting to marry "nobody".

The horn itself was just part of the large collection of artefacts that Ingen got his hands on and he used it to gain control of a smaller kingdom of his own as he took over the queendom of the elf when she died. However he quickly were forced to swear allegiance to the Stjärnkhrone house and he married into the family. As part of the tribute did he give his new liege lords his most powerful artefact, the horn.

The horn itself is made out of hallowed out dragonhorn with impressive carvings of dancing elves, trees, animals and what is assumed to be the queens demon servants dancing with one another on it's sides with gold shaped like oak leaves around it's top and the bottom where one blows to sound the horn.

Vitnavingarna

Vitnavingarna or the white wings were made and enchanted in the 15th century and the base of them are made out of marvellous white wood cut from a blood tree with a large battle between eagles engraved on it. It is hold in place by silver decorated white leather straps and on it's wearer's back can one see runesilver that decorates it's top and bottom. The feathers themselves are also white giving whomever wearing them an angelic appearance.

While they lack almost all enchantments so are they however carrying a few of them making their wearer more sure in the saddle, making him quicker and finally making sure the wings resemble themselves seconds after being broken. It is assumed that the last one was put there to save money as wings are normally fragile things that breaks when one is thrown out of one's saddle.
