History
The flag can trace it's origin back to the flags used by the Sjtärnkhrone family before the Imerian kingdom. There has even been evidence of a similar flag and warpaintings being used by a tribe that were described but not mentioned by name in the holy chronicles as far back as the great invasion of the Wharen lands. When the Stjärnkhrone family established their hold over Imerbürg and created their own kingdom did the flag follow with them, it was later adopted as the flag of the Imerian kingdom, then as the Imerian-vedian kingdom and lastly as the flag of the absolute royal federation with the unification of Scandera in 1534.
Symbolism
The white field is supposed to represent Scandera itself, honour and the purity of the nation itself, the yellow the gold and wealth it holds and the blue field stands for it's nobility while the eagle itself represents the king, strength and the Imerian warrior spirit.
Display and etiquette
The federal flag is flown all days of the year at all official buildings and in quite a few private homes as well to show a display of loyalty to the fatherland. The flags are according tradition meant to neither be torn nor dirty to be able to display the honour of the fatherland properly. When a flag is to be disposed of so does tradition maintain that it shall be burnt with a rose.
