deAlaya Motorworks is an automotive manufacturer based in Maltropia. It is the largest manufacturer of luxury and sports cars in Maltropia and is the oldest marque in continuous existence in the country.
Racing teams compete under the deAlaya name in a number of motorsport categories. deAlaya also sponsors the deAlaya Derby, an annual race at Park Saint Peregrine Circuit in Tyrmidra.
History
deAlaya Motorworks was founded in Eochaill in 1928 by Antoine deAlaya, a second-generation immigrant from San Pellegrino Romana. deAlaya had considerable experience working with the city's leading mechanics and built race cars in his own garage, earning an income through regular mechanic work and prize money from private races. The company began manufacturing cars for the national market in 1930. Their first mass-produced sports car, the deAlaya Falcon, won the Maltropian National Derby in 1935, deAlaya's third year in the competition, and performed well in competitions regionally. In 1941, the company signed its first export deals, making its first overseas deliveries the following year. The company opened a second factory, in Kinsale, in the 1950s and a third, outside Corcaigh Nua, in 1962.
