Eorlingas Holdfast is the city in Anglaland, Brytene. It is the seat of House Rohan and is a hub of the Brytisc maple syrup trade. Both the road and rail connections between Lundene and Contwaraburg run past Eorlingas Holdfast.
History
Early history
Eorlingas Holdfast was settled by Torsten of Rohan, one of the bannermen of Hengist and Horsa, who led men west after the capture of Castle Oakhall. Eorlingas Holdfast became the bulwark of Saxon power in the west, holding the surviving Celts at bay until the pivotal Battle of the Stones. The Celtic High King Cadwyg Cadarn was slain in this battle, ending Celtic power in Anglaland.
With the ascent of House Rohan to the throne of Anglaland, and later all Brytene, Eorlingas Holdfast remained the seat of the house and thus a royal town. This, combined with its rich maple groves and strategic commercial position helped the town to survive throughout the centuries, but it never grew into a major industrial area.
Modern age
Today Eorlingas Holdfast remains a popular tourist destination, especially during the 'sugaring off' in late winter, when the local maple plantations and sugar shacks harvest most of their crop. It remains the seat of the ancient House Rohan and is also an important part of the Lundene-Contwaraburg transport link.
The area is also home to some of the most popular hiking and skiing areas in Brytene outside of Nortymba, and the nearby Stones of Brytene are a global tourist attraction.
