Foreign Relations of Malgrave

The Foreign Policy of the United Kingdom of Malgrave is decided upon by the elected government and parliament at the time who call upon the Foreign Ministry, Finance Ministry the Ministry of Defence to carry out the tasks set before them. Upon receiving its guidelines from the government , the Foreign Ministry is in overall control of matters relating to international affairs and delegate tasks accordingly and have the power to call upon other Ministries to perform international duties as they see fit. Since opening itself to the international community Malgrave has followed the principle of Non-Alignment establishing diplomatic and economic relations with nations regardless of the countries internal political and economic affairs, this policy has led to the opening of relations with some countries which operate completely differently from Malgravean society and internal politics.

World Assembly

Since joining the World Assembly in 2009 the Malgravean Government have expressed the view that membership of the Assembly is vital to the continued positive view of the country across the international community and the visibility of the countries markets on the world stage. Internally whilst calling the overall aims of the Assembly as noble and some of the international projects funded by the union (specifically those related to scientific advancement) as incredibly wise it has questioned some of the minor decisions and internal squabbling involved in the daily operations of the World Assembly. Critics of the World Assembly both in and outside of Government have also criticized some of the regulation passed by the Assembly as simple moronic and illegal blockade against the progression of Malgravean science whilst the Government has been quoted as saying they don't follow certain World Assembly resolutions they feel interfere with the internal sovereignty and the steady progression of Malgravean intellectual thought and culture.

Malgrave is viewed as a friendly rival. With both nations being major investors in science, this rivalry mostly takes the form of attempting to out do each other on the technological stage. However, relations between the citizens and government of Rohane and Malgrave are very warm, with multiple agreements aimed towards cooperation economically and defensively. As Malgrave has appeared to the immediate north of Rohane, Rohanians consider it part of their most important foreign policy to protect Malgrave, both as a potential front line and as close allies.

The Colonial Republic views Malgrave as an important partner in the Mystrian region, and also as an underdog battling alien marauders from beyond the stars. Relations between the CRE and the United Kingdom are thus generally good. The two nations conduct trade, and also have made critical technology exchanges, including the transfer of a Battlestar to Malgrave in the form of the HMNV Ascension and fighters to go along with it (and well, training to go with said fighters at Edwards AFB). There is also plenty of cultural sharing as well, as Malgravean and Dornalian media is often exchanged. Dornalians themselves find the Malgraveans on an individual level to be good people as well, particularly as both civilizations are quite eccentric in their own ways.

While Dyste and Malgrave have had little contact for most of the younger nation's existence, recently that has changed as a result of the meeting and friendship between the Dystan queen's nephew and a Malgravean researcher. After the King of Dyste visited Malgrave during Ancestor Day, formal relations have started up, hoping to improve as time goes by.
