Forenede Folk
Forenede Folk (lit. "united people") is an ethnopolitical concept that the inhabitants of Mesconia and Vestelia, the two major constituent nations of Scovern, belong to one united culture. The concept was popular amongst Scovernois philosophers around the period of Scovernois unification, but has had a lasting effect on Scovernois politics and culture. In the modern day the concept is generally viewed as outdated, with most Mesconians and Vestelians viewing themselves at separate peoples and cultures.
Due to proximity, Mesconia and Vestelia share incredibly similar cultures, ranging from their languages, customs and religious beliefs. When the concept of a completely unified Scovernois nation began to enter mainstream philosophical thought in the 17th century, the idea that Mesconians and Vestelians were one people became popular among many philosophers of the time. Though Forenede Folk was a mainstream concept, it reached its opus before the emergence of liberalism and nationalism and thus its tangible effects are insignificant in the modern day.
