Gaetlii

The Gaetlii were an ancient tribe that inhabited central Syara and parts of western Ruvelka during the Syara Archaic Age.

Like the Aleitians and Dovossians, the Gaetlii descended from the Khotoi who had arrived between the 3rd and 2nd millenia BCE. The Gaetlii primarily settled in the Galanian Valley along the Rioni River and formed the core of Syara's agricultural communities. The Gaetlii, along with the Aletians and the Dovossians, were the only major tribes to survive Syara's Bronze Age Collapse. Due to their central location and fertile soil, the Gaetlii were frequent targets for invasions and raids, especially by the Bastarnae. They lagged behind the Aleitians in the formation of states and nations, but over time the agricultural production of the Galanian Valley allowed the Gaetlii to prosper, leading to the formation of the Galanian Kingdom in 422 BCE.

Over the course of several centuries both prior to and following subjugation by the Makedonian Empire, the Gaetlii gradually coalesced into the modern Galanian people.
