The Gracchus-class is a line of purpose-built SIGINT/ELINT and reconnaissance ships operated mainly by Maltropia and Neu Engollon. It is a collaborative project between Maritime Imperial, its naval subsidiary Tethys Mara, and Neu Engolleen Schwyz Logiztek.
Design
The hull of the Gracchus is that of Maritime Imperial's Thebes-class whaler, modified to accommodate full suites of electronic intelligence gear. It has an overall length of 77.8 metres (225 ft 3 in) and 71.5 (234 ft 7 in) at the waterline, while its draught is 7.9 metres (25 ft 11 in). The ship is propelled by an Enmar Industries DN-50 diesel engine, providing 12,500 shp and a cruising speed of 18 knots.
Production
The Gracchus is the first ship exported extraregionally by Maritime Imperial under a different brand; specifically, by Tethys Mara. Despite this, Tethys Mara does not possess its own dedicated shipyards and as such uses Maritime Imperial's facilities, both domestically and internationally. Within two weeks of the Gracchus being officially made available on the company's export catalogue, orders for a total of twenty-four had been placed by Neu Engollon (whose government had been a prominent backer of Schwyz Logiztek's involvement), the Blackhelm Confederacy, Nikolia and Mallaska.
