Queen Héloïse The Dowager Queen (born Marie-Jeanne Héloïse Baudelaire; 30 January 1969) is a Lyncanestrian businesswoman who was Queen consort of Sydalon as wife of Jordan IX. She was appointed regent during the incapacity of her husband, and remains an adviser on the Sydalene High Court of Queen Melisende III.

Early life

Héloïse Baudelaire was born on 30 January 1969 to Frédéric and Inès (née Charpentier) Baudelaire. Her mother came from a musical family as the daughter of classical pianist Jules-Antoine Charpentier and chanteuse Michele Lefebvre. Through her father, she was a member of the wealthy Baudelaire magnate family; Frédéric himself was the elder son of Imperial Deputy Hector Baudelaire, leader of the official opposition at the time who would be appointed Prime Minister the following year.

In her youth, she was pushed take up the arts by her parents, primarily her mother who tried to get the young Héloïse into music. She participated in school plays and musicals when she attested Collège Montbazon in Chambéry. As she entered her lycée years she dropped fine arts, instead developing an interest in fashion.

Education and career

Relationships

In September 1994, Baudelaire married Jacques Boutain, a real estate developer based in Chambéry twelve years her senior whom she had met four months before. The two settled in a 1.1 million apartment in downtown Villeneuve. From the onset, the marriage was not a happy one according to friends of both parties, and they would officially separate by mid-1995. Due to her prenuptial agreement, the divorce process from Boutain was lengthy and would not be finalised until June 1997.

Around March 1996, Baudelaire began an affair with the king of Sydalon, Jordan IX, after having met him at an international women's business conference in Sydalon earlier that year. By September, their relationship became public knowledge due to press coverage, and her pregnancy announcement in early 1997 garnered a lot of media attention. In 1999, Baudelaire and Jordan were married in Sydalon, and their child Alfonse would be legitimised.

Queen of Sydalon

Upon her marriage to Jordan IX on 14 April 1999, she was also crowned Queen.
