Hugo Harald Hunstad (born May 19, 1984) is a Navish professional footballer who currently plays as a forward and attacking midfielder for Midrasian side FC Hellingbourg. Hunstad spent much of his playing career in Navack, the bulk of which was with Brestrand Sportsklubb where he played from 2007 until 2018. Hunstad was also a regular within the Navish national side, having won two Copa Mundials with the side in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Hunstad also currently holds the record for most caps and goals for the national side with 110 caps and 56 goals.
Born in the Navish town of Lillesla, Hunstad was signed by his local youth academy at age 14 where he remained throughout his teenage years. After a number of impressive appearances for the team's under-19s side, Hunstad was quickly drafted into the first-team, making his debut in 2002 at age-18 against Koloni 01. Hunstad continued to play for Lillesla until 2005 where he was snapped up by Hudenholm FK for a fee of ʂ7.2million, then a Navish record for a player under the age of 23. Hunstad remained at Hudenholm until 2007 when he moved to Brestrand SK for a fee of ʂ35 million. Hunstad reached his peak under Brestrand and won multiple honours including a Superliga title and a Navish Cup. It was during this time that Hunstad featured regularly for the Navish national team, winning the Copa Mundial twice and netting a total of 56 times to become the country's all-time top scorer.
By 2017 however, Hunstad began to decline physically, suffering a number of injuries and a general reduction in stamina. Having retired from international football in 2015 to focus on Brestrand, Hunstad now found himself regularly starting as a substitute. Given his declining playing time, Hunstad sought to look elsewhere for opportunities for first-team football. In 2018 Hunstad elected to move on a free-transfer to Midrasian side Hellingbourg. For much of his time at Hellingbourg Hunstad played as a shadow-striker, or an attacking-midfielder utilising his ability to hold-up play and make late runs into the box. Despite an injury-hit start to his time in Midrasia, Hunstad would regularly start for the team throughout the latter half of the 2018-19 season as well as the start of 2019-20. As the season wore on however, Hunstad's physicality declined and he found himself starting on the bench more often than not. In 2020 however, Hunstad came on to score the winning penalty in a 1-0 victory over Olympique de Lotrique in the Copa de Mydra final to win the club's second major domestic honour.
