Laguaira became a dependency of Hoterallia in 1815 when the Canter Republic lost their control of the group of islands. The islands declared independence, with the support of the Empire of Hoterallia. The short-lived independence resistance movement was suppressed by Hoterallian troops after an invasion and was quickly defeated in the Capitulation of Puerto Paraíso. The new administration restructured the whole national government into a colony of the Empire. Its administrative capital was changed into Atasaipoi, led by the Governor-General of Kintochi.

In Hoterallia, the period is known as "Hoterajia Governance of Kintochi" (ほてらじあ委任統治領金土地群島, Hoterajia Inin Tōchi-ryō Kintochi Guntō), with the dependency called the Kintochi "United Autonomous Government" (金土地合自治政府, Kintochi Rengō Jichi Seifu)
