Meco, officially the Republic of Meco, is a nation in northwestern America. It is bordered by Laka to the north, Forna to the east, and Free Republic to the southeast. It has a coast with the Pacific Ocean to the southwest.

Meco ranks moderately high in civil liberties and moderately high in political freedom. Equality in Meco has been under scrutiny for legal and social discrimination of race and body type. Political and corporate corruption has also damaged trust in the country’s leaders and led to more economic inequality. Voting records are reportedly skewed and flawed with the ratio of population to voter turnout to poll records being suspiciously variable.

Meco has many natural resources including minerals, wood, and geothermal energy. Meco is a member of the American Union (AU) These are primarily exported to American nations, particularly Free Republic and Forna who are other members of the AU. All of Meco’s neighbours have business in Meco and influence the country heavily. Particularly Laka and Forna have been in a mini cold war for years attempting to have more influence over Meco.

Etymology

The origin of the name Meco has been lost to history. It is known that Meco descends from the modern age country of Mexico, however the origin of the name Mexico is not known.
