The Nagyatád Polgárság Revolt was a major battle during the Vámosoroszi Offensive & Revolt in the Citizenry Uprising. Initially concieved by Arpád Szakasits and put into motion by Nagyatád partisan leader Iván Kovács, the main goal that was defined by the National Militia was the ability to take focus off of the planned attack at the city of Kaposvár and to ease pressure off of the planned Storming of Polgárdi in the planned Oroszlány Offensive. The revolt was meant to pull polgárság into the uprising. Nagyatád was a city under the economic control of the Divided Estates of Nagyatád, a position that Ajándék Ákos and her sisters, Mária and Mónika shared as the three Alispans, and as such took over control of the Vámosoroszi Rendőrség Division and the 5th Noble Infantry Brigade led by József Eckhardt.

Initially the Nagyatád Polgárság Revolt saw major success, but the following Népekvihar levy that formed Ajándék's Népekvihar with the arrival of the 5th Noble Infantry Brigade resulted in a extended siege of Nagyatád. During the process, the Divided Estates General of Nagyatád and much of the property that belonged to the Ákosians were destroyed, rendering the city almost worthless and angering Ajándék and her sisters. In response, the 5th Infantry Brigade began to shell the city with artillery fire. Those who joined the Népekvihar against the revolt would be granted amnesty as a decree from Mónika.

By the seventh day of November, the morale of the Polgárság revolt had died. Árpád was pressured by the Ákosians to give into an unconditional surrender, which he accepted by the ninth. The surrender of Árpád allowed for the Ákosians to begin the Razing of Nagyatád, which led to the destruction of 72% of Nagyatád. Additionally, the commanders of the revolt were put on trial and executed, alongside the following Nagyatád Massacre, the largest massacre in the war that led to the deaths of 52,000 civilians and the subsequent Nagyatád Exodus. The Nagyatád Massacre is considered to have begin the War of Reprisals, where the Noble Terror and the Blue Scare took their roots.
