The National Soccer Association (Creeperian Spanish: Asociación Nacional de Fútbol, ANF) is a professional Creeperian soccer association consisting of 16 teams, divided equally into the north, south, east, and west. The ANF is one of the world's several professional soccer associations and the largest in Creeperopolis. The ANF's 22-week regular season runs from the first Sunday in September to late January, with each team playing 22 games. Following the conclusion of the regular season, eight teams (two from each division) advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Copa Creeperiano, which is usually held in February and is played between the last standing playoff teams.
The ANF was formed in 1904 as the Creeperian Professional Soccer Conference (CFPC) before renaming itself the Creeperian Professional Soccer League (LFPC) in 1924. During the Creeperian Civil War, the LFPC suspended operations. After the war ended, the LFPC resumed operations and renamed itself to the National Association of Professional Soccer (ANPF). The ANPF was finally renamed to the National Soccer Association (AFN) in 1952.
After initially determining champions through end-of-season standings, a playoff system was implemented in 1924 that culminated with a championship game until 1933. Following the civil war, the championship game concept was retained but the teams were divided in divisions. Today, the ANF has the highest average attendance (70,000) of any professional sports league in Creeperopolis and is the most popular sports league in Creeperopolis. The Copa Creeperiano is also among the biggest club sporting events in the world, with the individual games accounting for many of the most watched television programs in Creeperian history with over 250-300 million viewers nationally every year. ANF games are broadcast within Creeperopolis, the Papal State, and El Salvador. The Copa Creeperiano is also broadcast in Quebecshire, Gjorka, and Greater Sacramento.
The Águilas de Adolfosburg hold the most ANF championships with 21. The Santos de San Salvador are the ANF's current champions following their victory over the Reyes Atlántidanos in the Copa Creeperiano of 2019
