Peregrination

Peregrination is a concept in Cositene theology, referring to a state of physical and mental removal from the constraints of the Demiurge and the immediate material world, and free journey in a wider multiverse.

Peregrination is possible following the Ascension of a Cositene via sufficient refinement of the self and awareness of the true nature of existence. The sheer levels of knowledge attained at the levels needed for Ascension directly translate into powers which defy material limits, and the Ascended in question breaks free of worldly shackles spiritually as much as physically, disappearing from the material world. Thus, the ability to travel the 'Infinite Worlds' of Cositene cosmology is simply an evidence of the unimaginable liberation gained from perception of truth.

In less philosophical contexts, Peregrination is a setting for numerous religious narratives, typically tales relating to supernatural adventures of saints. It is a particularly recurring theme in folk Costeny that the prophet Mstis is building an army to defeat the Demiurge and free the remainder of humanity in the outside worlds, which is echoed even in orthodox Cositene eschatology.
