The AB-1045 hydrogen bomb (codenamed Ragnarök) was a planned thermonuclear bomb designed by the Englean Empire during the Cold War. The weapon was designed at the order of Generaloberst Leopold "der alte Dämon" von Windisch, who requested a weapon for usage during his planned Operation Donnerkrieg. It has been said that his exact words were "to design a weapon that would evaporate the reds," with emphasis that the weapon must be more powerful than those already in the arsenal. At the time of the order, the Englean nuclear arsenal's largest weapon was rated at 20 megatons of explosives. In contrast, the AB-1045 was designed to be rated at 160 megatons - enough to utterly annihilate a target and surrounding areas. In 1961, the bomb was nearing the production of one prototype with a bomb casing based on the AB-489 being modified to hold the warhead of the weapon. Ultimately the project was cancelled before a proper test had been conducted in 1964, however it has been reported from foreign agencies that a "large detonation" had been detected in early 1965 that has been claimed to be the Ragnarök.
