Elections

Elections for Federal Senate occur every three years, however while terms of the Senate are six years in length the elections for the Federal Senate are staggered so that only half of the senate is elected every three years. All Citizens of the age eighteen and older, who are not currently serving a prison sentence, may vote for any Senator.

Every province of Thermodolia has at least one Senator, with the range being 3 to 6 Senators. However Commonwealths are only granted a single Senator. All Senators are elected by Single Transferable Vote, though since the Commonwealths only return one Senator their senator is therefore elected by Instant-Runoff Voting.

Previously the Federal Senate was elected by the Two Round System with each of the then 74 senators being elected in single member districts that represented the Republics, States, and Districts. Each of those provinces where granted one senator each.
