Spring War Armistice

The Spring War Armistice was an armistice agreement established on April 1st, 2017 between various nations in Anteria and the Free Land of Oconeee. This armistice officially resolved the Spring War.

The Armistice

For the purpose of ensuring peace in Anteria, the following mandates have been presented to the government of the Free Land of Oconeee to accept as a consequence of their actions in the Spring War.

I. Oconeeean sovereignty will be limited to its de jure owned territory, as defined by the official map of Anteria.

II. The Oconeeean military is to immediately reduce to 10% of its pre-war size following their acceptance of this armistice. A timetable of military reduction will be decided. a. If the Oconeeean military maintains a size that exceeds the above limitations, the Free Land of Oconeee will be deemed in violation of the armistice, and will be considered a hostile nation.

III. All Oconeeean personnel responsible for the decision to utilize nuclear weapons will be tried before an international tribunal composed of a joint coalition of other nuclear capable nations. This tribunal will henceforth have defacto jurisdiction on the matter of the Free Land’s March 20th attempt to utilize nuclear ordnance against the Hofflandian Union. Defendants will be in the custody of the stated joint coalition. The tribunal is tasked with ascertaining the guilt of those charged with utilizing nuclear weaponry. The tribunal has the authority, within the scope of international law, to pass judgement on those found guilty, as well as delivering punishment that best suits their transgression. a. The Free Land of Oconeee will extradite those who were responsible for the decision to utilize nuclear weaponry. Failure to extradite all those who were responsible authorizes the tribunal to forcibly extradite the current President of Oconeee to stand trial as the sole accused person responsible for the attempted nuclear engagement.

IV. The Free Land of Oconeee will cede all their nuclear weaponry to an international commission composed of various nations All nuclear ordnance relinquished to the said international commission will be dismantled. Once the commission has determined that the Free Land of Oconeee has ceded the entirety of their nuclear arsenal, and all relinquished ordnance has been properly dismantled, the commission will disband. a. The Free Land of Oconeee will not be permitted to construct or acquire nuclear weapons at any point thereafter. If it is determined that that the Oconeeean government has constructed/acquired, is in the process of constructing/acquiring, or plans to construct/acquire nuclear weaponry after they have ceded their current arsenal to the commission, Oconeee will be deemed in violation of the armistice, and will be considered a hostile nation.

V. The Free Land of Oconeee will pay reparations to any nation that has received damages during the war. All nations that have received damages may request reparations to be paid by Oconeee. These requests will be considered corollaries to this Armistice, and therefore are directly enforced by it. Oconeee must comply with all requests for reparations, but may appeal requests that they find unreasonable. In this case, the Grand Republic of Albithica and the Directorial Republic of Astariax will determine the validity of the appealed request. Any appealed request that has been found unreasonable will not be enforced by this Armistice. If a request is found to be reasonable, Oconeee will then be required to comply, and will be enforced by this Armistice.

The government of the Free Land of Oconeee must agree to the above mandates and faithfully remain in compliance with them. Failure to accept these mandates will be considered as an act of hostile intransigence, and would invalidate the current cessation of hostilities since the standing ceasefire is conditional on the fact that the Free Land accepts the armistice presented to them by the international community. The Free Land does not reserve the right to reject the armistice; they can only accept it, or appeal for negotiations on specific clauses. It should be noted that if it is the consensus of the issuing parties that certain clauses are non-negotiable, any Oconeeean appeal to those said clauses will be denied.

In the event that Oconeee accepts and remains in compliance with the above stated mandates, the international community are prepared to deliver the following non-negotiable concessions to the Free Land of Oconeee.

I. Astaraxi forces will withdraw from Oconeeean de jure territory, ending the current foreign occupation of the Free Land of Oconeee.
II.Oconeeean sovereignty over their de jure water territories will be respected, and foreign naval forces will withdraw from said waters.
III.Current sanctions levied by foreign nations against Oconeee that were established in the events leading up to and as a result of the Spring War will be withdrawn.
IV. The Oconeeean capital of Seneca will be declared a “Crisis Zone”, allowing independent humanitarian organizations free access to the city of Seneca for the purpose of providing relief and aide.
V. The Free Land of Oconeee will be declared a “humanitarian disaster area”, allowing Oconeeean citizens who were affected by the conflict to temporarily immigrate as refugees to countries willing to receive them until such a time that conditions in Oconeee return to normalcy, in which case they may return home.

The Free Land of Oconeee hereby accepts and complies with these mandates, and acknowledges the consequences for failing to comply with them. The Free Land of Oconeee understands the concessions that are conditional on their acceptance of this armistice.

Once this Armistice is accepted and signed by a representative authorized to act on behalf of the Free Land of Oconeee, the Spring War will officially be resolved.
