Sunwoo (Anikatian: 순우; Sun-u) is a Anikatian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Antiytia. It comprises numerous subsidiaries and affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Sunwoo brand, and is the largest Anikatian business conglomerate.
Sunwoo was founded by Park Woo-jung in 1918 as a trading company. Over the next eight decades, the group diversified into areas including food processing, textiles, insurance, securities and retail. After the Anikatian Civil War the new government pushed the now state-owned Sunwoo company into the construction and shipbuilding industries in the late 1950s and the electronics industry in the mid-1970s; these areas would drive its subsequent growth.
Following fall of the DSRA in 2001, Sunwoo along with all the major businesses in Anikatia were once again privatised Sunwoo was separated into two business groups – Sunwoo Group, and DN Group. Since 1993, Sunwoo has increasingly globalized its activities, and electronics, particularly mobile phones and semiconductors, have become its most important source of income.
