Tielo, formally the Semi-autonomous region of Tielo is located in north eastern Fichmanistan. The region was given devolved powers from government after the failed 1973 rebellion against the Fichmani government.
History
The people of Tielo known as Tielan, have inhabited the land since 11,000 BCE. The people of Tielo were first unified by the Lomat Empire in 1594. In 1619 the Lomat Empire collapsed leaving a power vacuum in the area. In 1641 the kingdoms of Spovmanistand and Rifzid invaded and conquered Tielo, establishing the condominium of Tielo. The region was run by a Rifzid governor or a Spovman governor until 1701, rom then on it was a Fichmani governor until the Yellow Revolution in 1934. During the Yellow revolution, Tielo acted as a de facto independent state, even sending diplomats to foreign countries. Tielo supplied the republicans, but did not engaged in warfare against the Monarchists. In 1936, as thanks for Tielo's help in the war, the new republican government allowed the people of Tielo to vote for governor. The only reason John Arnold allowed this was because the position of governor had been greatly restricted to a ceremonial role. After the death of John Arnold, every man and women in Fichmanistan over the age of 16 had the right to vote. Except for those living in Tielo, whom had no vote except for that of the ceremonial position of governor. In October of 1973, the Tielan people revolted and killed Fichmani government and military officials. This outraged newly elected President Dean Michaels who launched a vicious military assault on Tielan civilians. The rebellion was brutally suppressed and thousands died. President Micales was found guilty of war crimes in ordering the attack, but resigned before be was removed from office. The new Fichmani president Laura Toomey granted Tielo a devolved government with domestic powers.
