The Type 47 frigate, also known as the C or Chatham class, is a class of guided missile frigates being built and in commission for the Royal Illuverendian Navy. The class is slated to replace the former Illuverendian stratocracy's Type 45 frigates, which were relatively large and were basically seen by the Navy as second-rate destroyers and impractical to operate.

Design of the Type 47 was heavily inspired by the state-of-the-art Type 36 destroyer that replaces the Type 32 and 33 destroyers. The dimensions of the class are 3 metres shorter than of a Type 36, but are wider by 2 metres, allowing more room for equipment and ordnance.

The Royal Tierdzan Navy will operate a variant of the Type 47 frigate known as the Federburg class.
