The Dellish Revolution (Dellish: Dellsk Revolúsje; Weranian: Dellische Revolution; Kirenian: Dellise revolutsioon), also known as the Second Alslandic Revolution was a conflict between Dellish and Alslandic separatists against Kirenia that eventually led to the independence of Delland.
Alsland had been controlled by Kirenia since the end of the Ten Years' War. The aftermath of the annexation saw the First Alslandic Revolution occur in 1722. Whilst the revolution was a failure overall, nationalist spirit still remained prevalent in Alsland despite attempted 'Kirenicisation'. Since 1910 the Dellish National Movement led by Siemen Hartmann had gained considerable influence in Alsland as it desired to create an independent Dellish state. The movement was banned but operated underground and had acquired firearms in the years and months prior to the revolution.
On 18 October 1919, mass demonstrations broke out in Wottested led by Dellish nationalists aimed at releasing imprisoned Dellish nationalists and autonomy from Kirenia. The demonstrations quickly turned violent and the Kirenian army withdrew from the city. The demonstrators then released separatists from the city's jail on 24 October 1919. On 31 October 1919, Hartmann announced declared the independence of Delland from Kirenia.
Wottested, now in control of Dellish militias was declared as the capital of the Dellish Republic. Dellish soldiers in the Kirenian army began defecting shortly after this and a wave of refugees, primarily Kirenians fleeing Alsland caused a crisis. Thousands of Dellish, Swathish and Weranians in Kirenia also subsequently began returning to Alsland. The refugee crisis halted most of the fighting as both sides struggled to deal with the influx of people. After the Councilists in Kirenia issued the Creation of the Kirenian Republic, Ilmar Levandi and Hartmann met in person and the Levandi-Hartmann agreement was agreed upon. Alsland would become independent in exchange for recognising and supporting the Councilist government.
