It is the largest single corporation in ViZion and one of the world’s biggest, operating a range of diverse companies and airports across various sectors. It has a dominant presence in manufacturing, business operations, travel, and information and technology. It also boasts of being one of the most profitable businesses on the planet. Among the non-military segments of the economy, ViZion World Corporation stands out as the leader in international business.
It is one of the Big Three in Astyria, along with: General Industries Corporation and Astyria Corporation.
History
ViZion World Corporation has a long and rich history that dates back to 1874, when it started as a small clock repair shop in ViZion City. The founder, Mr. Greg Anderson, named his business Anderson Clock Repair and quickly gained a reputation for his excellent service and craftsmanship. He was one of the busiest repairmen in the city, but he also had a vision for expanding his portfolio into other industries.
In 1885, he seized the opportunity to buy Rocker Carriages, a large carriage building business that was struggling to compete with the emerging automobile market. He renamed his company The ViZion Company and transformed it into the most successful business in the area, selling both clocks and carriages.
However, Mr. Anderson was not satisfied with just two lines of products. He wanted to diversify even more and enter the media industry. In 1902, he acquired ViZion Daily, the largest news print company in ViZion at the time. This was the precursor to ViZion News Broadcast, which would later become one of the most influential news outlets in the world. With this acquisition, he changed the name of his company to ViZion Corporation, reflecting its growing scope and ambition.
By 1920, ViZion Corporation had become an international player, after purchasing two clock makers from outside the country: Tao Clock Makers from China and Viv Clock Works from France. These acquisitions gave ViZion Corporation access to new markets and technologies, as well as a new name: ViZion World Corporation.
ViZion World Corporation continued to thrive and innovate in various sectors, but it also faced some challenges along the way. In 1944, during World War II, the company had to sell off its clock building business, known as Anderson Clock Works, to raise funds for its other businesses, which were booming at the time. The company also went public in 1946, listing its shares on the ViZion City Stock Exchange. This move attracted many investors who recognized the potential of ViZion World Corporation.
The company reached a new milestone in 1994, when it was purchased by Teddy Smith, an extremely successful businessman in many industries. Teddy Smith was not only a savvy entrepreneur, but also a descendant of Greg Anderson, the founder of Anderson Clock Repair. He brought ViZion World Corporation back to its roots as a family-owned business and made some brilliant business moves that paid off.
In 1999, he handed off the business to his son Jack Smith. In April of 2007, Jack Smith announced that ViZion World Corporation was debt-free and ready to take on new challenges. Jack Smith is recognized as bringing ViZion World Corporation from ViZion's largest corporation to the undisputed world-leader in revenue, profit, and size.
Culture
ViZion World Corporation’s culture is based on the philosophy of Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, a book that Smith credits as his inspiration for success. The corporation’s motto is “Keeping the World Spinning”, which reflects its relentless pursuit of excellence and growth. The corporation also values diversity, creativity, and teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to share their ideas and learn from each other.
One of the most prominent features of ViZion World Corporation’s culture is the poem that greets visitors and employees at the entrance of its headquarters. The poem, written by Hill, emphasizes the importance of having a positive mindset and believing in oneself. The poem reads:
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find, Success begins with a fellow’s will-
It’s all in a state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got be be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go To the strongest or fastest man,
But soon or late the man who wins Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!
