Viemose is a rapid transit station in Metrozone 1 of the Rimso Letbane, serving the rapidly-developing areas of Viemose and Ellingshavn. The station opened in 1988 on the Union line, but eventually grew to serve the Coronation line in 1997 and LuftLink in 2000. The mixed-use development has seen a range of residential and commercial development, and with it the station's usage on the Letbane network has grown substantially in recent years.
Viemose station was designed by Mescon architect Theis Brink in the 1970s and 1980s, with construction beginning in 1985. The station's design features a large transparent glass building with a water concourse surrounding some of the station. In 1997, to celebrate the coronation of Henrik, the exhibition Ormehuller was added to the station's escalators, which has since become a famous tourist attraction in the area. The station has lifts down to platform level, which is 14 m (46 ft) below surface-level. The station served over 5 million passengers in 2021.
