The Kovachev family is an Tengarian political family that has long been prominent in Tengarian politics and military service. Founded by Tengarian Imperial army officer Simeon Kovachev when he was prolcaimed Head of the Imperial Provisional Government in 1930 during the collapse of the Empire of Tengaria during the Great War, it grew in prominence during Simeon's leadership of the army during the early republic and eventually came to take political power after the Tengarian Civil War. Ever since 1958, three Kovachevs from three different generations have served in the office of President of Tengaria, several descendents serve in prime military and political offices. The family is currently headed by Teodora Kovacheva, granddaughter of Simeon Kovachev, who has been President since 2014.
