The Kovachev family is an Tengarian noble political family and that has been prominent in Tengarian politics and military service. It was founded by Tengarian Imperial army officer Simeon Kovachev in 1929 Dragomir III ennobled him and made him Count of Strelsti for his success in the Great War. Simeon was later proclaimed Regent in 1930 during the collapse of the Empire of Tengaria, and eventually came to take political power after the Tengarian Civil War. Three Kovachevs from three different generations have served in the office of President of Tengaria, several descendants serve in prime military and political offices. The family is currently headed by Teodora Kovacheva, granddaughter of Simeon Kovachev, who has been President since 2014.
