Koyuki Kuribayashi is the current Thegn of Contwaraburg Riverbend Riding, a city-centre district in Anglaland, Brytene. She is a member of the Socialist-National Party and has served a total of thirteen terms, and is in the middle of her fourth consecutive term as Thegn since her election in 2011. She is a member of Clan Kuribayashi.

Early life

Koyuki was born on the 9th July 1977 to Naburu and Sachiko Kuribayashi. Sachiko was younger sister of Tadamichi and Hinata Kuribayashi, making Koyuki cousin to Saigo Kuribayashi and a member of Clan Kuribayashi. She studied at the Breasden Community Primary School and the Nobutada Memorial Secondary School, before earning a place at Kings College Lundene to study a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.

Career

Upon graduating, she worked as a researcher for the Brytisc Broadcasting Corporation for two years, before deciding to take up politics. She ran unsuccessfully for the seat of Contwaraburg Riverbend twice before being elected in late 1999. During her tenure she oversaw several changes to local zoning laws and also penned an initiative to improve the water quality of the River Con.

She has been re-elected a total of thirteen times to date, and enjoys notably high approval ratings in her constituency.

Criticism and controversies

  • In 2005 she was the subject of a national scandal when it was alleged that she had used her influence to allow Kuribayashi Arms to purchase and demolish a listed cinema building from the 1920s in order to construct a new distribution centre. She lost the following election, a defeat which many analysts attribute to the fallout from the scandal.
  • In 2008 she allegedly made racist remarks regarding the inhabitants of Pepper Atoll, according to an article published by the Brytscop. She later brought a civil case against the newspaper, which was settled out of court.

Personal life

Koyuki Kuribayashi has two daughters, Rio and Miu, by her ex-husband Kenshin Inoue. Inoue and Kuribayashi met in university and married in 1998. They divorced in 2002, citing irreconcilable differences. They share custody of the children.
