Beatavic (Dutch: Prachtige Kust), officially the Republic of Beatavic (Dutch: De Republiek van Mooie Kust), is a nation located in Euronia bordering the North Samson Ocean to the east, Niswibik to the south, Tunio to the north and the rest is unclaimed land. It consists of 11 provinces, and is ruled by Prime Minister Marlijn Zallandt. The federal capital is Gran Telea and the most populous city is Amstelvoort

Modern Day Beatavic was first settled around 5000 BCE by the Askuwheteau which is believed to have fled from rival tribes.

In 1948 Beatavic would enter it's worst economic disaster, with 3/4 jobs lost and 14% would go homeless and even forced Eldert Groen to resign, prompting a special election. Koen Cerfontain won the special election and lifted 5% of people out of homelessness while creating 500,000 jobs, mainly in Infrastructure. In 1949 Beatavic would be involved in The World War, creating 300,000 war jobs, which lifted the nation from an economic depression and lifting an additional 4,000,000 people out of poverty.

Beatavic is a Federal parliamentary constitutional republic. The nation's head of state is the prime minister. The country has been in Independent Coalition of Nations since May 4th, 1993 and has no intention of leaving any time soon.

Etymology

The origin of the name of Beatavic is unclear although the name dates back to when Telea tribe used the word Béátóvic, although the meaning is disputed. Some say it means Coastline while others say it means ocean.

History

Prehistoric

It is generally accepted that the Askuwheteau migrated to Modern day Varvieska and Hammersand. Some sources suggest an earlier date of arrival although it is agreed that the Askuwheteau arrived in Varvieska and Hammersand around 5000 BCE and remained in modern day Beatavic along with many other tribes.

Discovery

In 1531, Beatavic was discovered by a colony of people escaping religious persecution from Den Hagg, a city/territory in Drambenburg using the Strait of Vulkaria. When confronted by the Telea tribe the colonists assumed them to be a threat and immediately began to slaughter the Telea tribe known as Telea Massacre which nobody in the Telea tribe survived. Soon after a settlement would be established named Delmenkirchen which would later be renamed to Gran Telea and would later hold an election resulting in federalist victory and later Nije-Twilhaar Hengelaar would be inaugurated.

Exploration

Shortly after establishing the Republic of Beatavic along with undergoing local and national elections the government would establish the Woeste Ontdekkingsreiziger who held the authority to both explore and establish provinces. They would begin exploring further, discovering all of Arklip and Kustberg by December 1531 and went further north and west, establishing Griesrath, Alkdorp and Kuftetten by the end of 1532 and as the amount of Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers rose from 500 to 1,000 more provinces were being established going from 2-3 a year to establishing 4-6 entire provinces per year. In 1533 Alenzon, Weinssten, Evercroen and Dikwerp were discovered and were established as provinces. In 1534 when attempting to establish a settlement in the soon to be province of Landrichem, the Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers would be confronted by the Enkoodabaoo. Similar to 1531 the Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers would take them as a threat and would begin slaughtering them. Over 100 people died and 200+ people went missing. Shortly after the province of Landrichem would be established. After that the Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers would decide to head west and soon discovered and established Avimomble and Thannholder as provinces. In 1535 the Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers would encounter mountainous terrain and decided to head north, discovering Freimundigen and Knokvoorde. In June of 1535 the Woeste Ontdekkingsreizigers would be dissolved and the government would take over discovery of further provinces discovering Marrgues, Kirchdenz and Vlissingleen by December 1535. By April 1536 the amount of government hired explorers would grow to 10,000 along with the discovery of Culemschede, Darmwagen, Eberfingen and Montaucourt. In 1536 several territories would be established including the Wolugem Territory and the Denderwerp Territory, almost completing Beatavic's expansion and in 1537 the Hengefoort Territory would be established, bringing an end to Beatavic's expansion.

Post Exploration 1500's

In 1563 while Prime Minister Naud Essen was riding his horse he would be fatally shot and killed, this would be marked as the first assasination of a Beatavician prime minister. In 1593 monarchists would attempt a Coup D'état which would fail miserably, 2 were killed and 5 were injured.

Civil War of 1604

In March 1604 a civil war would break out between the Government and Monarchists. The Monarchists would push as far as Amstelvoort and South Gran Telea. In June 1604 Monarchist forces would push into Gran Telea, targeting the Prime Minister's house but 10 minutes later government forces showed up and both sides would fight fiercely, known as the The Battle of Gran Telea which would be one of the bloodiest battles in Beatavician history. The government forces would be victorious and would push the monarchists into Antringen, a settlement south of Amstelvoort. When pushed into Antringen the monarchists surrender, bringing an end to the civil war which killed 4,000, injured 5,000 and 400 went missing, which 235 out of the 400 have been found. The war also cost approximately 60,000 Beatavician marks in damage, or 100,000 marks as of 2020.

Post Civil War

In 1605 6 people would be tried for treason, all of them being monarchist. The 6 included the leader, 3 commanders and 2 soldiers. The leader was sentenced to decapitation of the head, the 2 commanders were sentenced to permanent house arrest and the 2 soldiers got 10 years in prison. The judge could have given the 2 soldiers the maximum sentence which was life in prison but refused as they were forced into the war and instead gave them 10 years which they only served 6. The war also caused allot of damage which put Beatavic into a recession that lasted for 7 months but eventually most buildings were fixed and a month later got out of the economic recession.

Rise of Catholicism

Sometime in 1610 more people from Den Haag had arrived in Groventer, a settlement north of the Beatavician-Niswibiki border except the group identified as Catholic. Shortly after the group had arrived Catholicism had spread throughout Groventer along with nearby settlements. In 1611 Catholicism would arrive in Gran Telea and it quickly spread. People would also spread the word of Catholicism to Amstelvoort which was a small settlement at the time and other parts of Beatavic. In 1613 the number of Catholics went from 400,000 to 2 million, taking over Atheism and by December 1613 approximately 87% of Beatavicians identified as Catholic.
