Ideologically the party has positioned itself as a centrist political party and has been described as populist by some media sources. The party was founded on 26 July 2022 ahead of the 2022 Alslandic legislative election by politicians from the Green - Alternative Choice and Progressive Alliance who were opposed to the cabinet's response to the SYFA spying scandal.
