The Taxation, Cargo & Excise Enforcement Agency, also referred to as the TCEEA, is the government taxation agency in the Empire Of Makko Oko under the directive and control of the Ministry Of Finance. Its mission is to regulate and enforce the taxes and excise of the government, and also works with the Homeland Border Protectorate to secure and regulate cargo coming in and out of the nation's ports and airport.

History

Republic Of Makko Oko

During the era of the Republic, the TCEEA had been multiple national agencies. There was the State Taxation Service (STS) and the Bureau Of Cargo Inspections (BCI). They both worked together for customs-related taxes and charges, but otherwise didn't interact much and were separate agencies. The STS was incepted in 1995 after the government began plans to start taxing the populace in order to grow the small nation. The BCI on the other hand was founded in 2000 after a big population boom led the original department to become overwhelmed, therefore allowing a separation of authority and the workforce.

Reformation

After the Civil Transition War came to a close and the Empire was formed, the new Emperor, Conall Solis, thought it would be both better and cheaper for productivity and the government budget respectively, to merge the BCI and the STS together, officially forming the TCEEA. With that came full law enforcement ability across the board, instead of the limited ability the STS had, and the full ability the BCI had exclusively on the border.

Independence From MOF

On March 15th, 2023, His Emperor's Government under Emperor Conall Solis announced the split and independence of the TCEEA from the Ministry Of Finance into its own agency. The government said that it was due to "missions that interfere with the optimal operation of the ministry". The website "tceea.mof.gov.mk" started redirecting soon thereafter on March 17th, 2023 to the new website "tceea.gov.mk".
