The First Battle of Augusthal (Hesurian: Erste Schlacht von Augusthal, also known as the Augusthal Shock, Augusthaler Schock) was a battle of the Continental War fought from 19 October 1910–27 February 1911. It resulted in a Hytekojuznik victory against the defending Mascyllary armies in the east. The battle was the culmination of the Hytekojuznik rush into Mascylla and pursuit of the Mascyllary armies which had established a defence line at Augusthal. An attack by three Hytekojuznik armies along the Elbgau River forced the Imperial Army of Mascylla to retreat east and regroup at Weidenau. Though the Mascyllary armies were able to evacuate most of the troops and equipment within the city, the battle was a victory for Hytekojuznia, as it opened the strategically viable Elbgau Gap to further advance into Mascylla. However, with Mascylla fully mobilizing and eigth armies drawn together at the proximity of Hytekojuznik strongholds to counter any push, a trench warfare stalemate for the next two years began to emerge.
