The FBBP was founded in | The FBBP was founded in 1964 as the successor party to the national liberal Liberal Citizen's Party of Besmenia (LBB), after Jürgen Rothmann became chairman of the LBB in 1963, and a transition to a more centre-liberal orientation began. Under Martin Beiter, there was an increasing social liberal orientation. Today the party sits on the political spectrum between center and center-left. Since the 1980s, the FBBP has managed to develop into a popular party and has also managed to be the strongest or second-strongest party in Federal Chamber elections.
The FBBP was | The FBBP was involved in the federal government from 1980 to 1993, from 2001 to 2012, and most recently from 2016 to 2021. The party is one of the three major contemporary political parties in Besmenia along with the Besmenian People's Party and the Social Democratic Union.
==Ideology and policies==
===Economic policy===
The FBBP is oriented towards economic liberalism and advocates the social market economy with a high level of technological innovation and growing digitalization, the FBBP considers this to be a central driver for creating prosperity for the entire society.
===Family policy=== | |||
The FBBP advocates the legal equality of different forms of living together. Marriage between a man and a woman should not be given preference over other forms of coexistence. Same-sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples. For example, the FBBP supports the right to simultaneous adoption of children by same-sex couples.
===Foreign policy=== | |||
Internationally, the FBBP calls for a more determined enforcement and promotion of human rights and freedoms. The FBBP are for a cosmopolitan Besmenia that uses the opportunities of globalization for itself. The FBBP sees itself as „the” ANS party. This claim is justified by the Nortua policy and the co-founding of the ANS in 1989 under Martin Beiter's premiership. To this day, the party still supports Besmenia's membership in the ANS.

With the slogan "For a Modern Besmenia!" the FBBP and SDU finally won the absolute majority of votes and mandates in the 1981 Besmenian federal election and formed a majority government.

The Free Besmenian Citizen's Party (Besmenian: Freie Besmenische Bürgerpartei, FBBP) is a liberal party in Besmenia.
The FBBP was founded in 1964 as the successor party to the national liberal Liberal Citizen's Party of Besmenia (LBB), after Jürgen Rothmann became chairman of the LBB in 1963, and a transition to a more centre-liberal orientation began. Under Martin Beiter, there was an increasing social liberal orientation. Today the party sits on the political spectrum between center and center-left. Since the 1980s, the FBBP has managed to develop into a popular party and has also managed to be the strongest or second-strongest party in Federal Chamber elections.
The FBBP was involved in the federal government from 1980 to 1993, from 2001 to 2012, and most recently from 2016 to 2021. The party is one of the three major contemporary political parties in Besmenia along with the Besmenian People's Party and the Social Democratic Union.
Ideology and policies
Economic policy
The FBBP is oriented towards economic liberalism and advocates the social market economy with a high level of technological innovation and growing digitalization, the FBBP considers this to be a central driver for creating prosperity for the entire society.
Family policy
The FBBP advocates the legal equality of different forms of living together. Marriage between a man and a woman should not be given preference over other forms of coexistence. Same-sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples. For example, the FBBP supports the right to simultaneous adoption of children by same-sex couples.
Foreign policy
Internationally, the FBBP calls for a more determined enforcement and promotion of human rights and freedoms. The FBBP are for a cosmopolitan Besmenia that uses the opportunities of globalization for itself. The FBBP sees itself as „the” ANS party. This claim is justified by the Nortua policy and the co-founding of the ANS in 1989 under Martin Beiter's premiership. To this day, the party still supports Besmenia's membership in the ANS.
History
Formation and Rothmann leadership (1963-1979)
Beiter leadership (1979-1991)
After the 1980 Besmenian federal election, Martin Beiter formed a minority government of FBBP and SDU. With the slogan "For a Modern Besmenia!" the FBBP and SDU finally won the absolute majority of votes and mandates in the 1981 Besmenian federal election and formed a majority government.
1991-1999
Kummstein leadership (1999-2011)
Since 2011
As a result of the poor result at the 2011 Neidenstein-Sulzburg state election on January 23, 2011, there were intense discussions in the party, including about Kummstein as party leader and also as prime minister. On January 25, 2011, she announced her resignation, effective immediately, from both the post of prime minister and chairwoman of the FBBP.
Organization
Federal board
The FBBP federal board leads the party. It decides on all organizational and political questions in accordance with the resolutions of the federal party congress. His tasks include the appointment and dismissal of the federal manager. He appoints the delegates to be sent by the FBBP to the annual meetings of the Union of Albatross Liberal Democrats.
