Besmenian Empire (Besmenian: Besmenisches Reich), commonly called West Besmenia, was a Besmenian state that emerged from the Kingdom of Besmenia after the monarchy was abolished ny the parliament. After the West Besmenian Revolution in 1966, the regime collapsed. Then the Besmenian Republic emerged from the Besmenian Empire, which joined the Federal Republic of East Besmenia a year later and thus led to the Besmenian reunification in September 1967.

With the administrative reform of 1930, the previous states were relieved of their function. They were replaced by 15 districts as the new middle level of state administration. The districts had no political (federal) autonomy like a state of East Besmenia, nor did they have any self-government rights like a local authority.
