Txir is a major city in the Trellinese Empire. It is the most populous city in the Isles of Velar and the nineteenth most populous city in the empire with an urban population of 1,420,342 and a metropolitan population of two and a half million.
Txir was the capital of a powerful and independent kingdom until 850 AD, when it was annexed by the rising Kingdom of the Isles of Velar which had its capital at Parthenope. Its princes remained influential within the new kingdom, and in the late 1700s Prince Miró led a challenge to Elcmar IV of Trellin's claim to the Velaran throne. The city was besieged and captured in 1770.
