In January 2017 Daniel Hamill was nominated by Minister-President Elizabeth McCord to Executive Commissioner position, however some members of House of Lords questioned Hamill ability due to his to age and lack of experience of running public agency or any type of business. At Hamill confirmation hearing he was grilled by progressive leaning members of the Health, Education, and Labor Committee in the House of Lords.
