Alexandria-Prussia Department of Drugs and Alcohol Programs (DAPS) is a cabinet-level department in the HM Central Government. The responsibility of this department is to coordinating and pursuing, drug investigations both domestic and abroad. Oversee central government’s alcohol and drug prevention, intervention and treatment services programs. The department is tasked disruption of major drug trafficking operations and related crimes, such as money laundering, tax and weapon violations, and violent crime. The department is tasked also with investigating and preventing of central offenses involving the unlawful use, manufacture, and possession of firearms and explosives; acts of arson and bombings; and illegal trafficking of alcohol and tobacco products.
History
The department was created in 2017 by Drugs and Alcohol Programs Act. As a result the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, and Drug Enforcement Agency were moved from Department of Justice to DAPS. The department works closely with Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, State and the Treasury.
