Geoju (Chasunese: 거주특; lit. 'Residence'), officially the Special City Municipality of Geoju (Chasunese: 거주특별시자치체) is the largest metropolis and capital city of the Republic of Chasun. Geoju is the most populous city in Chasun with a population of approximately 5.7 million people in 2019, and forms the heart of the Geodokchu Metropolitan Region (GMR, 거독추수도권) in central Chasun with over 11 million inhabitants, the single largest metropolitan area in the country and one of the largest in the world, as well as representing the world's seventh-largest metropolitan economy.
Apart from its status as the designated national capital, Geoju in tandem with the nearby Hyangchu metropolis and Baedokgi region as the GMR also is the country's financial, cultural and educational centre. TBD
