The Socialist Republic of Dau Sel is divided into 14 separate cúigí, or provincial level administrative divisions, largely based on historic, cultural, or linguistic borders. The most populous province is Croílár with almost 5 million inhabitants. The least populous is Heimströnd with less than 200 thousand inhabitants. Each province is allotted a seat in the Teach Cúige (Provincial House) for every 100,000 residents, rounding up.
