FBBP
Prime Minister Martin Beiter, who was also FBBP chairman, ran as FBBP candidate for the fourth time.
BVP
The BVP had put its chairman, Erik Tautenbach, in the running as a prime minister candidate. Tautenbach became BVP chairman in 1985, succeeding Michael Möhring.
