A snap legislative election will be held in Amathia on a federal level on the 26 December 2022 following the planned dissolution of the Senate of Amathia by the Presidency. The dissolution of the current legislature and new elections became necessary after the Legion of the Dawn announced its intent to stop supporting the current center-right ruling coalition, stripping it of its majority, just before a vote of no-confidence that passed against the Veleșean Government. The vote was followed by a failure of any party or group of parties to establish a parliamentary majority in order to rule. The ensuing political crisis led to an agreement between several parties to force a snap election in order to solve the deadlock. A caretaker government was sworn in as the parliament was dissolved on the 27 October 2022, prompting the organization of elections in 60 days from that date.
