Valais is a major port town in Winst. It is located on the mouth of the Vesil River and Relias Bay. It is a significant global center for finance.

Founded in 1254, it served as the second capital of the Kingdom of Vink after the sack of Val in 1332. Following the Lunder Conquest, it served as the administrative capital of the Duchy of Ester until the creation of the Grand Duchy of Vinchester. The traditional home of the Leveque family, who trace their lineage from the last King of Vink, the city is known for its massive financial district and the headquarters of LBC Accounting, Horace Investment Management, and Leveque City Bank. The investment into Financial services has left the city as one of the wealthiest in the nation. During the 19th Century it served as a strong industrial center for Winst with coal being shipped down the Vesil River feeding its industries. During the brutal campaigns the great Olympic War bombardments effectively demolished the town. Heavy investment by the Leveques and other strong financial families following the conflict's conclusion allowed the city to be rebuilt even as the world slipped into the post-war depression. This left the town with a uniquely Post-Olympic Architecture style, sometimes referred to as {Art Deco}.

The city, to this day, has some of the oldest construction firms in Winst due to the continued building projects, and has earned it the nickname "The City That Never Quits". This nickname, turned mantra, is not only clearly apparent in ever evolving urban infrastructure, but also in the studious, diligent citizens of Valais. Today the beautifully kept up pavilions and walkways serve as a reprieve from the cities fast pace life style.
