The Orientia Quidditch Association, more commonly known by its Japanese name, 東洋クィディッチ協会, is the federal governing body of quidditch in the Orientia. It is responsible for the national team, as well as club competitions.

History

Establishment

The association was founded in 2047 after the country was invited to the multiversal Quidditch competition, along with Mirum and Amenria. The first assembled team, Tokyo Avengers, was comprised of mostly awakened special force personnel, as they proved their mastery in controlling the hoverboards (hoverboards are standard practice vehicle for aerial combat in the special force). As a result, the first generation of quidditch hoverboards were more suited for combat and not for sporting events.

2047 Chūo Regional Championship

The first regional championship was held from October 2047 to February 2048 in Chiba, Hiroshima, Kaohsiung, and Dounan. The final match was held in Koshien Stadium in Kobe. As the name said, the competition was held strictly in Chūo, although the competing players came from all across the country. The competing teams were mostly awakeneds, with most of them are military personnel. Despite being a trial championship, its main purpose was to pick prospective players from the top 4 teams to assemble a national team. After the championship ended, one keeper was picked from Auckland Giants, two beater from Anchorage Oilers and Mexico City Jaguars, two chaser from Tokyo Avengers and Chiba Golden Eagles, one chaser from Melbourne Devils, and one seeker from Kaohsiung Gorillas.

Mechanism

Similar to Amenria, the game is not played on brooms. Instead of using hoverbikes, Oriental quidditch uses hoverboards for more agility and flexibility, although require an expert control on using it. The Bludger and the Snitch, are also drones programmed to target heat from players and their hoverboards and move in random patterns respectively.
