Number stations are an important part of Averius radio cryptography. These radio stations provide alphanumeric codes to send intended recipients encoded messages. These codes are top-secret, not known outside of the Empire.
AM Radio Number Stations
AM Radio Number Stations use a automated or semi-automated messaging system allowing music and news reports to be given by automated systems with alphanumeric codes being provided once every half-hour. These stations typically run a magnetic tape recording every thirty minutes. These 16-bit sound tapes transmit 1.44 MB of sound data for 25 minutes before switching over to the code-based transmissions.
Alphanumeric Codes
Alphanumeric codes are in four sets of 8-bit bit-codes, including 6 coding bits and 2 parsing bits. The first set indicates a code. The second set is to indicate the intended recipient. The third set is [WIP]. The fourth set is [WIP].

Third Set Codes
The Third Set Codes indicate [WIP] of the message. These set-codes consist of with 1 null code and 63 operational codes.
Code | Meaning |
---|---|
NULL | Null Bit |
Fourth Set Codes
The Fourth Set Codes indicate the time of the message. These Set-Codes with 1 null code and 63 operational codes. Only 48 of the codes are useable in an operational system as the set indicates times every thirty-minute interval, with only 48 of these in a day.
