The Syaran National Fleet was the largest formation of the Navy of the Syaran Republic during the Siduri War.
Formed shortly after the Invasion of Ruvelka, the fleet's main goal was to protect Syara's western coastline against potential raids and attacks by the Cacertian Royal Navy and other hostile naval powers. It first saw extensive action in the Western Theater during the invasion of Mansuriyyah, where it battled against the MAnsuri and Cacertian Navies. The National Fleet played a prominent role in the Nuadan Campaign both protecting Syaran shipping and raiding against Cacertian convoys.
In November 1935 the fleet was mobilized to participate in Operation Scylla, the seizure of the Cacertian territory of Andria. It was bolstered to a strength of 93 warships, including 18 battleships, 8 battlecruisers, 11 heavy cruisers, 14 cruisers, and 42 destroyers. During the subsequent Battle of the Sabri Sea the National Fleet was decisively defeated by the combined Cacertian Center Fleet, Southern Fleet, and Andria Fleet, losing four battleships, two battlecruisers, five cruisers, and 16 destroyers. Unable to match the strength of the Cacertian Navy, the National Fleet retreated towards Syaran waters and largely limited itself to operations close to occupied-Ruvelka and the Mansuri Sea. The latter was the site of another major battle in August 1936 which ended in a Syaran victory; the only major Inner Sphere victory at sea during the war.
Steadily whittled down by operations in the Nuadan Ocean and the Sundering Sea, the National Fleet was eventually forced back to Syara waters where it remained for the rest of the war. The fleet was still anchored in Moddra in preparations to prevent a potential blockade of Syara when Ruvelka was liberated by the Common Axis, and the war ended. Per the Treaty of Debrecen, the Syaran National Fleet was supposed to be handed over to the Common Axis to be distributed among the victorious powers. Instead the Syarans chose to scuttle their own ships on 15 March 1938 to prevent them from falling in Cacertian hands. Out of 64 remaining ships, 48 were scuttled while 16 were captured by the Cacertians.
The National Fleet remains the largest Syaran armada assembled in modern history.
