The Absolute Court of Jesus is a constitutional court within the Empire of Makko Oko with the power to oversee and handle civil and criminal issues in relation to religious law, in addition to examining and determining whether the laws of the Empire comply with religious law. As a constitutional court, the Absolute Court of Jesus has solely appellate jurisdiction, however, it may claim ordinary jurisdiction in special cases such as religious law review or if an advisory opinion is needed in a religious context. The Absolute Court of Jesus has the power of judicial review and may overturn laws or question the constitutionality of laws in regards to the state religion, with no other religious court claiming the power.
The Absolute Court of Jesus is the only authority in the nation designed to enforce the state religion onto the functions of the government, the people and the legal system. Justice Richard Garst is the current Chief Justice of the Absolute Court of Jesus, having been appointed on January 1st, 2023.
